No boots of Spanish leather
No castanets of silver or gold
No Gypsy's curse on our hearts
We are just passing strangers
on a road we have walked before

No sunshine bright to warm us
No shelter from the storm
No soup, warm to sustain us
For we are just passing strangers
on a road we walked before

No stars out there to guide us
No compass for to direct
No shoes we have upon our feet
For we are just passing strangers
on a road we have walked before

No lamp to light our way tonight
No blanket for to warm our very soul
No knowledge passing forward and miles to go
For we are just passing strangers
on a road we have walked before

No mercy was shown in our favor
No crime did me commit
No jury heard our cries for equality
We are just passing strangers
on a road we have walked before

Excellent poem, I like especially the final, the last image is really beautiful and sad.

(Ah, thanks for your comments to my blog and sorry for my poor english).

Oh. I just discovered a sweet comment you deposited at Zen Assassin. Your writing has that tang of authenticity. Please consider posting more poems at BluesPoetry.
